Mavela Game Lodge is nestled in the heart of the magnificent Big 5 Manyoni Private Game Reserve, near Mkuze, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. A unique all-inclusive luxury, safari-style tented bush lodge that offers both local and international travellers intimate encounters with African wildlife.
The lodges dining and living area has a thatched roof depicting a diving raptor in flight. A porte cochere leads into the open plan dining room where our delectable meals are served. The upstairs bar opens out onto an expansive deck offering panoramic views over the south west of the reserve. Outside, the swimming pool with its comfortable loungers offers respite on a warm Zululand day while the shaded deck is the ideal place to sit and relax between activities. In the evenings guests can trade stories from the day’s sightings while enjoying the campfire under a clear African sky.

Our guests can unwind and make themselves at home in one of our seven, luxury safari-style tents. Each luxury tent is tastefully decorated complete with aircon, standing fans and luxurious, eco-friendly Afri-Earth amenities and crisp white linen on either single or king beds. There is an en-suite bathroom and shower plus an intimate outdoor shower that faces the views of the bushveld. Unwind on a large private deck looking out at the beautiful views with comfortable deck chairs and a birdbath in front of each tent, which birding enthusiasts can enjoy ticking off their lifers from the comfort of their veranda.
